There are 300,000 Sarawai tribesmen living in the coastal jungles of southern Sumatra. Most of them are Muslims, but they are still searching for the light of God’s truth. The only religious book most Sarawai believe is the Qur’an. They do not yet have a complete Bible. There were once 2000 believers among this people group, but many of them have reverted back to Islam after a mission agency suspended operations in Sumatra. Now most Sarawai people have no contact with mature believers.

Ask God to draw back to Himself those who have returned to Islam.

Pray that God would lead more mission agencies to serve among the Sarawai people. Pray that the Sarawai New Testament and JESUS Film will be widely distributed among this people group. Pray for a complete translation of the Bible into Sarawai. Pray that the Fisher of Men will have a good catch among the Sarawai people. Pray for open hearts among the Sarawais.
